Having to undergo a cardiac procedure can create stress and anxiety for the person requiring the care, as well as their loved ones. Having to wait for that procedure to take place creates additional stress and worry. As a patient, you want to know that your health will not be compromised as a result of this wait. The Cardiac Care Network of Ontario (CCN) establishes a provincial system to effectively monitor and manage the wait times for cardiovascular procedures in all regions across Ontario, ensuring patients receive the best and most timely care possible.

Regional Cardiac Care Coordinators provide information and facilitate physician-to-physician communication. They also do the following when a patient is accepted for a cardiac catheterization, angioplasty or surgery procedure:
